Everyone loves a film premiere! Come along to the Shire Hall in Monmouth to view The Arborealists’ film premiere of ‘Lady Park Wood’.
The Arborealists are a group of contemporary artists who create art inspired by trees. Many of the group’s members share a passion for the ecology of trees and their significance in the conservation of our fragile, natural environment. In 2016, George Peterken OBE, forester, ecologist and author, invited The Arborealists to interpret Lady Park Wood (which sits above the Wye gorge near Monmouth) from an artist’s perspective. This is the group’s first site specific project.
Set aside by the Forestry Commission in 1944 as a research reserve for in-depth ecological study, Lady Park Wood has been completely unmanaged for the last 75 years and, as such, is of huge interests to scientists wanting to understand the impact man has on woodlands. This film tracks the artist in their year long project.
Free Event. Part of the Woodland Assembly & Shadow Forest event at the Shire Hall.
