Tintern Abbey has been a place of pilgrimage for hundreds of years. Join our gentle pilgrimage amble from the old port of Brockweir down river for 1 ½ miles, passing the ancient church of St Michaels on the way to the Abbey.Try out one of our traditional hazel walking staves made by Wye Valley AONB Youth Rangers. Led by Monmouth Walkers are Welcome.
Ticket (Adult £6, Child £3.80, Family £15) includes pilgrimage walk, simple pilgrim’s soup supper at Tintern Village Hall, evening entry to the Museum of the Moon and transport from Tintern to the start of the walk.
Meet at Tintern Abbey (not Tintern Wireworks carpark) for minibus departure at 5pm.
There is a large shared car park near the Abbey entrance (charges will not apply after 6pm) with approx. 55 spaces, including 5 dedicated disabled spaces.
Daytime: Tintern Abbey is generally made up of flat lawn areas with some graveled paths. Mobility access to most of the site is achievable.
For the night time events we will have a designated disability access route into the Moon which will be light and stewarded. Please ask stewards to assist as part of the route needs to be lit by torch.
A toilet is available for users with disabilities and limited mobility.
