At our gorgeous riverside Festival site in Llandogo enjoy a day of spectacle and entertainment with our eclectic mix of artists, music, dance and children’s activities including The Fairground of Time.
Highlights include The Rajasthan Heritage Brass Band,whoserepertoire spans Rajasthani folk songs, Bollywood hits, spiritual qawwali, Bhangra beats, sci-fi and intergalactic funk and even some well-loved pop songs. Expect flying pancakes, singing, some dancing, a bit of eating and drinking, laughing and lots of new friends in TOAST, a communal celebration of food, performed by Pif-Paf. Everyone is invited to party Punjabi stylewith RSVP Bhangra a high-energy, Bhangra music experience who have pleased crowds from Glastonbury to WOMAD. For something a little calmer relax and enjoy Cloudscapes, an intimate installation of clouds and words, set in a cloud-gazing area of giant beanbags. It’s a very personal, human-scale work which focuses on the role of clouds in climate change.
As night falls this feast for the eyes captivates young and old alike, as two weeks of festive fun concludes with a community torchlight procession and a pyrotechnic display. At dusk fire torches are lit and the procession moves off, weaving its way around the village and down to the riverside festival site. Collective ‘ooo’s’ and ‘ah’s’ from the audience echo along the riverbank as the pyrotechnics cast a myriad of reflections across the river.
