‘Finding my way through: setting off, arriving, where’s the map, how do I read the map, maybe I’ll set of without the map, how free do I feel‘ – just some of the ideas that make up Ruth Pitter’s podcast Intrepid-ation.
Ruth is a writer and performer living in Bristol. She is a founder and member of Breathing Fire Playback Theatre Company (2005 to present) that delivers interactive theatre performances and workshops with communities locally, nationally and internationally. In 2019, Ruth and a group of others set up Black Women Let Loose Theatre Company. Members write and perform their own work incorporating stories that encompass a range of life journeys and experiences.
Ruth is an avid walker; having walked sections of the South West Coastal path and fundraising endurance walks in the UK. The highlight of her walking life, so far, has been walking the Camino de Santiago from St Jean Pied de Port to Santiago de Compostella. Over the past 6 months, in addition to writing, Ruth has walked around 1,000 miles – mostly around Bristol. She looks forward to taking part in the Wye Valley Festival. Walking and creating theatre stoke her every day energies and passion.
