Postponement of Wye Valley River Festival 2020
It is with regret that the Wye Valley River Festival team and the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) Partnership have taken the difficult, but ultimately inevitable decision to postpone the Wye Valley River Festival 2020. This rapidly escalating public health emergency, which we are all having to face, means that it has become inappropriate for us to deliver the Wye Valley River Festival (WVRF) 2020 this May.
The Wye Valley River Festival is about bringing communities, professional artists and a diverse audience together to enjoy, explore and discover the wonders of nature and culture – Creating Spectacular Happenings in our Outstanding Landscape. Now is clearly not the time to do this, but hopefully, by the autumn it will be and we can reconnect again then.
We are in the process of talking to all of our artists and partners about next steps and potential dates. We want to retain the integrity of programming and build on the substantial amount of work already done for WVRF 2020. Whatever the future holds we remain committed to collaboration and presenting dynamic work in the landscape.
So please keep an eye out for the new dates. We’ll be back. In the meantime don’t forget you can still get out and enjoy the Wye Valley; the necessary new precautions don’t stop you taking a walk in the sunshine (or the rain).
We hope to see you all in better times in the Wye Valley. Until then, stay strong, stay well and keep in touch with us on social media.
