A zine of poems about lockdown.
Created communally by people of the Forest of Dean by poet Sally Jenkinson
Read by Sally Jenkinson (1,9), Maggie Clutterbuck (4,5,6,7) and Darren Hoskins (8)
In July and August 2020, Sally asked people all over The Forest to lend her a line, a thought, a phrase or even a single word that revealed something about their personal experience of lockdown. She then chopped up all the words, spread them over her kitchen table and reformed them into these poems. The result was this Forest-wide collaboration – a socially-distanced, community-written book of poems, recording ad exploring the experience of the strange days we are living through, alone and together.
The project was a commission by Canopy Creative Network. http://canopynetwork.co.uk and supported by Wye Valley River Festival.
