Walk Out West

Specially commissioned by the Wye Valley River Festival, Deasy Bamford has brought together a micro group of culturally representative diverse artists from Bristol to explore the Wye Valley Area and develop a creative thoughtful response to being a person of colour and a city dweller, when out in areas, communities and environments of outstanding natural beauty.

Stretching between poetry, short film, philosophical musings, photography and documentation the artists reflect their experience of a day in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Initially this was to be a 3 day exploration and residency but Covid-19 cut us short!

This collective of artists – the Walk Out West artists are: Rob Mitchell, a Creative Media producer and spoken word artist, Ruth Pitter, a writer and performer living in Bristol, Jasmine Ketibuah-Foley, a Broadcast Journalist, creative and podcaster, Shagufta K. Iqbal, poet, workshop facilitator, Tedx and Arvon Speaker, Deasy Bamford, who weaves community development with creative and cultural participation.
