Young Person’s Creativity Award

As part of our outreach work for the 2020 online River Festival we were pleased to be able to offer Creativity Awards to local young people aged 16-25 for work in response to the theme of Wye Valley Inspiration. We are delighted to announce that our Creativity Awards go to Caitlin Van Buren for her poem Gestation in the Wye and Laurie Cousins with Catrin Harrison for their short film But She Passed Away.

We love how the how the Wye Valley continues to inspire a new generation of creative talent. Caitlin, Laurie and Catrin follow in a long tradition of writers, poets and artists inspired by the landscape of the Wye – from the misty views of JMW Turner, to the romantic lines of Wordsworth, and more recently, the filmmakers of “Sex Education” and the artists and performers delivering our Reimagined River Festival in 2020.
